Ahhhhh... [The sound of some sort of liquid relief can be heard, which probably doesn't make this entry all that pleasing to the ear. At least until the guy doing it starts to talk over it.] Let me get this straight.

I don't understand this fucking book, but there's a bunch of people talking through it. Unless this is some real crappy prank, guess I'm gonna have to do the same thing. How does this thing even work!? [Wait. He thinks he's got it.] One of you heathens answer this for me! What's the fucking deal with this place?

[There's a hesitant pause. It's enough of a pause to hear that he's finishing up his business.]

Y'know what? Forget that. Where's the nearest public bathroom? [That's where a bounty office might be, right?] Someone inside this book fucking spill it already! C'mon!

[Later after his amazing attempt at gathering information, Hidan can be found wandering inside of the village in his New Feather pants doing one of two things.

1) When he's not moving around in an attempt to figure out where he is and why he doesn't really believe anyone else about this place, he's sitting on a bench with his hand on his neck. His fingers comb over his stitches softly.

It's not the stitches that bother him, or the fact that he was supposedly buried alive moments before awakening here. No, that was thanks to Jashin.

His necklace was missing, and that was bothering him.

2) If you don't run into him at any of these two times, feel free to run into him while he was artfully making his original journal entry. Surely he wasn't in an actual bathroom at the time. Might have been near your house or something. He's a crude guy.]

[Patience is a virtue and all that jazz. Shikamaru further conceals himself in the shadow of a building. This should do fine.]

[It takes Hidan some time, but he finally finds the clothing store and manages to somehow get inside and find his clothing. All intact!

But he doesn't bother putting it on, only walking out of the store with his clothes folded under his arm and scythe in hand. He doesn't look threatening, right?

Because he wants to.]

[He's suspecting an attack for sure then. Shikamaru's glad he waited. Hidan's a few bricks short of a load, but he's not a complete idiot.

Most of the people in the square will give him a wide berth with that behavior. This works for Shikamaru - the only reason he's held off attacking is because he didn't want anyone coming to the aid of a "new feather" while Hidan has that scythe out.

Still hiding in a dark corner on a roof around the bend, he drops his camouflage jutsu. Shadows move within shadows, and he's snaking his through those of the nearby buildings towards Hidan's for a stealth attack.]

[Moving forward, Hidan suddenly has a bad feeling cross his mind. Like something was about to go down. He's got a knack for sensing that kind of thing. Sort of.

Regardless, the feeling forces his movement to stop. His eyes move from side to side to try and figure out what it might be, if it's someone hiding out or gas. Something.

There's one thing he wouldn't expect. And it would be Shikamaru's shadow coming out to grab him, since he was pretty sure that Shikamaru was in hiding the entire time. One little oversight.]

[In that case, it should have no problem connecting. You remember that feeling of freezing up, don't you, Hidan?]

Kage Mane no Jutsu... success.

[Oh. He remembers this. That's partially why his train of thought is thinking along the lines of FUCK NO NOT AGAIN GOD FUCK DAMN and such.]

--Again!?

They say don't fix what isn't broken.

[Shikamaru steps out of hiding - Hidan won't mimic this motion, but the hold tightens once Shikamaru is standing straight in front of him.]

Let's go for a walk.

[See the anger rising on Hidan's face? It's turning into something even worse than anger. Super anger.

~~waitwhat~~] Hell no! Can't you learn a new fucking trick?! [Like he has a choice at the moment.]

[SAYS THE GUY WHO DOES NOTHING BUT STAB HIMSELF FOR HIS TRICK.]

Heh. [But no, we're running now. Not far, just to the forest away from the village here. It's a quick jaunt - under two minutes - but Hidan might notice that the jutsu is already starting to give a little if he fights against it.]

[If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Or just stab it. Wait, what?

Hidan will complain the entire way to where Shikamaru is attempting to drag him, a little more than the last time these two went through the motions. There's definitely more anger in Hidan's voice, even a hint of concern. Last time, Hidan thought that Shikamaru was trying to be a hero and delay him. He was sure that the kid signed his down death warrant.

This time, he knows what the kid is capable of. He was smart, thinks quick on his feet, and Hidan was in some place that apparently wasn't even their world. Not that he bought that. The worst part was that he was under-equipped.

But it seems like the jutsu was a little weaker this time around. That brings a thought of elation to Hidan's mind, quieting any panic that might have been rising up in the back of his mind as they arrived in the forest. It was enough that he looks plain angry by the time they stop, instead of any other emotion surfacing.]

The fuck do you have planned this time, huh!? Another little hole you dug up with your friends like you're playing around in a sandbox?! The same trick won't work twice, idiot!

[He wants out of this binding jutsu. He's had enough of this constricting feeling, having no control over his own body. It's sickening!]

[Shikamaru looks at the treeline. There's a steep slope just beyond there. Yes. This is the spot. When he looks back to Hidan, his expression is once again a mask.]

You're right. I only realized that after the other hole was made, of course.

[Without warning, Shikamaru throws one of his chakra knives. It'll whizz past Hidan's head to bury itself in the trunk of a tree behind him.]

[This is all reminding him too much of their last fateful encounter, the knife thrown off to the side as if it were going to make another sinkhole. The difference here, however, was very evident.

Only a little longer, and Hidan would be free...]

Then what are you trying to pull?! Target practice!?

On the contrary. I said we'd talk, didn't I? Someone like you can consider this a kindly reminder.

[Shikamaru glances at his shadow, then back to Hidan. Another ten seconds and he should be able to break through it. He steels himself, continuing to sound overconfident.] You've escaped my judgement once, but don't think you'll get out of it so easily if I bring it down upon you a second time.

That so? [He can feel the bind on his body loosening, Hidan just biding time until he can break out and snap Shikamaru's neck like a twig.] I told you that the same trick wasn't gonna work twice on me!

[Hidan begins to force his body to move a little more and more, doing everything in his power to work against Shikamaru's little parlor trick.]

How about you clean your ears out before I sever that smug head of yours off your fucking neck! You dumbass!

[OKAY, HERE WE GO. LAUGHTER AND FULL FORCE POWER INTO BREAKING FREE.]

[To that his eyes widen and he plants his feet, putting his focus into his chakra and clearly trying to maintain the hold.

Not gonna work. The thread of shadow between them thins until it breaks.]

[It's a shame that in the run Hidan had lost grip on his clothes and lost them somewhere in between here and the village. The good thing was that his tri-scythe was not lost in the run, and still firmly gripped in his hand. If it weren't for the bloodlust clouding his vision right now, Hidan might have thought that it was strange that Shikamaru forgot about the scythe this time, but not last time.

But who fucking cares!

His shrill laughter piercing the air with even more gusto, Hidan finally breaks free of that jutsu he despises so dearly. Running forward with reckless abandon, he positions himself to swing at Shikamaru's head with his scythe.]

[Shikamaru dodges that so the blade swings over his head, timing a jump backwards for when the scythe overswings.]

[Hidan knows this song and dance. People dodge under the swing and jump back. That's when he pushes forward to follow, using momentum to bring the scythe over his head and swing down.]

You're not getting away!

[And that's when Shikamaru only sidesteps, rooting his feet to the ground and hopefully throwing off Hidan's momentum. He extends his arm straight forward.]

Neither are you.

[Remember that tree he through his chakra blade into? It's exploding now, and shooting out fire and shrapnel straight for their path.]

[He should have seen that coming. But it wasn't immediately obvious with the rate in which he threw it right at the beginning. Hidan's swing forces him to jump off to the side instead of pursuing Shikamaru quickly enough to press on without being in danger.

No, instead he's forced away from Shikamaru to let the force of the explosion to blow in between them. This is downtime for a moment, enough to let that kid think. Or worse, put a plan into motion where he can't see him.

That's where he's dangerous.

All Hidan can do is brace himself for anything, keeping his eyes peeled as he begins to calm down. The blood was rushing, but there was nothing he could do.]

You pussy!

[SURE ENOUGH. Shikamaru's used that explosion to put some distance between them. Before it's fully cleared, Hidan might catch sight of him since he seems to have switched to moving on the treetops.]

[That's one hell of a head start Shikamaru has, but Hidan is pretty sure he can catch up if he tries hard enough. And he sure as well will. With another shrill laugh echoing from him, Hidan pushes forward after the smoke clears to chase after the coward.]

[He's definitely gaining as they get closer to the slope here. Shikamaru risks a look over his shoulder looking more than a little uncomfortable with how much Hidan is gaining on him.

In response, once they hit the slope he drops down into the lower branches in an obvious attempt to lose visibility.]

[Man, fuck that. Hidan is literally following Shikamaru towards the lower branches, but attempting to slice through any branches that might impede his progress of catching up. It's not an incredible gain since the scythe is fashioned for wounds, but Hidan's strong enough to manage a few.

He really wants to catch Shikamaru and end it.] Quit running and face me!

[LOOKS LIKE YOU LOST HIM ANYWAYS. He knows these trees like the back of his hand by now. But given he can't be too far, if Hidan stops wrecking with that scythe he'll probably be able to hear him.]
