[Later after his amazing attempt at gathering information, Hidan can be found wandering inside of the village in his New Feather pants doing one of two things.

1) When he's not moving around in an attempt to figure out where he is and why he doesn't really believe anyone else about this place, he's sitting on a bench with his hand on his neck. His fingers comb over his stitches softly.

It's not the stitches that bother him, or the fact that he was supposedly buried alive moments before awakening here. No, that was thanks to Jashin.

His necklace was missing, and that was bothering him.

2) If you don't run into him at any of these two times, feel free to run into him while he was artfully making his original journal entry. Surely he wasn't in an actual bathroom at the time. Might have been near your house or something. He's a crude guy.]

Everyone brought here is from a different world. Well, not everyone exactly, as there are many here who have a number of people from home with them. But the basic explanation would be that there are many universes out there and anyone can be taken from their universe and trapped here.
