Name: Hidan
Fandom: Naruto
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Time Period: After being buried alive
Wing Color: Black with a white skeletal pattern
History: "You know what, Kakuzu? Eat a dick."
Personality:
Hidan always walks around with an air about him that just screams that he's GONNA SHANK A BITCH.
Violent isn't extreme enough of a word to describe Hidan's personality in a nutshell. If you could combine violent, ruthless, and bloodthirsty into one word, then you would have something that somewhat describes Hidan. He's ruthlentthirsty. The only reason he even joined the Akatsuki was to find people to kill. The man finds ecstasy in pain and bloodshed, all in the name of his god. Lord Jashin is the only thing that Hidan ever seems to respect aside from -- sometimes, and only sometimes -- his fellow Akatsuki. He is an advent follower of this religion and goes to great lengths to refer to the scriptures of his religion when speaking, or calling all others atheists and heretics because of their inability to see the one true god that exists, Jashin.
His following of Jashin is tied directly to his violent personality and his heavy obsession with pain, suffering and torturing others. What isn't directly tied to his religion is his attitude towards others. He isn't above cursing people out -- and he really does curse people out a lot. Like stated earlier, Hidan shows virtually no respect for anyone else. Sometimes he will begrudgingly respect his allies, but he won't latch onto someone in a positive light. He even curses out and condemns his own partner on multiple occasions, but the two have a good understanding of each other and never really take each other seriously for longer than necessary. Other than Kakuzu, Hidan doesn't show much thought towards others. There was even a time where he openly remarked about killing Nagato, the leader of the Akatsuki. No respect!
Hidan knows his own weaknesses, aware that he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to smarts and tends to rely more on his strength and ability to not die ever when things get real. When that fails, he relies on his partner to pick up the slack and have his back. Despite the two bickering more than they should, Hidan shows a small hint of caring for the man when he gets overwhelmed. It stems partly from the fact that they actually compliment each other and Hidan does respect Kakuzu's power to an extent, and probably also from the fact that Hidan prefers to have someone around to have his back. For instance, if Kakuzu weren't around, Hidan would have been nothing but a head rolling on the ground during his fight with Asuma.
Well. He would have been stuck that way much earlier.
The guy is wild and erratic, often coming off as unpredictable in a way that most people wouldn't expect. This is mostly due to the reckless behavior he demonstrates to his own body, using it as a focal point in combat. He doesn't try to dodge most attacks that would otherwise be fatal, and his ritual makes self-harm more than important. He's hard to predict in that regard. At least until you get to know him a little better, because then he gets a little predictable. He's easy to rile up with words and his mind moves in one direction when it comes to anger; killing the bastard who badmouthed him.
Despite his love for pain and inflicting self-harm to kill others, Hidan likes to complain about pain more than he honestly should. This mostly happens when he's not the one causing the harm, or when it's harm caused to him which is unrelated/doesn't contribute towards his ritual and killing someone. He actually complains so much sometimes that it's almost ironic and makes him something of a hypocrite. It's almost like he complains for the sake of whining and complaining. Hidan overreacts to a lot of things. This is no exception.
He also isn't above fear or surprise. Sure, he may come off as a guy who is only focused on killing and wildly doing whatever he pleases, but he knows when he should be scared. And it's hard for him to keep up his normal attitude when that fear hits him. He tries to stay cool and laugh maniacally when he was on the verge of being defeated by Shikamaru, only to have his laughter cut short once he realizes the gravity of the situation. It's replaced by anger and reasoning that Jashin would smite Shikamaru since Hidan noticed he was powerless to defend himself.
But at his core, Hidan is a sadist and a masochist. His ritual and immortality just helps him get both sides of himself out at the same time. And he's one insane motherfucker.
Strengths:
Physical: Hidan is an impressive physical specimen.
He stands at second best in the Akatsuki when it comes to Taijutsu, obviously showing an impressive reign over the technique when he uses weaponry and a flurry of kicks to overwhelm his opponent. He is skilled in using a variety of weapons, no matter what they may be. Hidan specializes in using a giant three-bladed scythe called a Tri-Scythe, and is also quite adept in using a number of retractable spears that he carries on his person. His Tri-Scythe is also attached to his body via a long chain which increases his range with the weapon drastically and only make his deadlier. To make matters worse for his opponent, Hidan can also use the chain itself as a weapon to attack or defend with. He was able to use the small width of the chain to actually defend himself from a kunai toss.
The main technique that Hidan is capable of is a cursed ritual that allows Hidan to become a living, walking voodoo doll. When in this state, any damage to occurs to his body also transfers to the person whose blood he has ingested. Drinking any amount of someone's blood will trigger the transformation where his body's skin color darkens to a deep black, only contrasted by white to become something of an skeletal pattern. Because of this technique, all of Hidan's weapons focus entirely on drawing blood rather than killing.
For this technique to be effective, Hidan has to be able to take hits fatally without dying himself. Hence, he is immortal so long as he keeps up his killing spree to please Jashin. He can have his head cut off and his body go limp, but he will still survive as a head and be able to speak, breathe, and (mot importantly) bitch non-stop until he is fixed. Hidan can not be killed by traditional means at all.
Because of his immortality and absurd strength, Hidan also does not tire easily. It's quite easy to even say that he has an inhuman amount of stamina as well. He never backs down from a fight, and no matter how long the fight goes on for or how many damage he sustains, Hidan always continues onwards as if he were just getting started. He is actually never seen gasping for breath or even moderately exhausted. The guy is almost like a demon.
Mental: For what it's worth, Hidan doesn't seem to scare easily in the middle of combat so long as he feels like he and Kakuzu have the upperhand. In his battle with Team Asuma, he never seemed to lose his cool and instead relished in the time he had to torture Asuma with his cursed technique. Even the fatal blows to his body didn't seem to bother him near the beginning of the battle. So long as he has the upperhand, there's no need for him to worry.
And because of that, Hidan is actually a little street smart and knows when he has the upperhand. He was even able to time Shikamaru's strength in his shadow possession jutsu and how long he could hold it at a time because of all the times Hidan was caught in it. He can be surprisingly perceptive when introduced to the same scenario over and over, but also quite smart in hand to hand combat or with a weapon. He was easily able to lure Asuma into letting the Tri-Scythe hit Hidan but faking it out as an attack to Asuma instead of self-harm, because the entire team was focused on not letting Hidan harm himself.
Despite complaining all the time, Hidan also isn't really scared of pain and things related to it. He just ends up complaining afterward about the pain, but he doesn't ever seem to mind past holding a grudge or just bitching and moaning non-stop until it's all fixed. You have to remember that Hidan likes hurting himself.
Emotional: When he gets mad, he gets really dangerous. He may let his emotions get the best of him because of how easy it is to rile him up, but it's also a good intimidation tactic because of how dangerous Hidan truly is with his skill set. His emotions also never seem to cloud his combat skill in the middle of a battle, though Hidan himself may be visibly upset or overcome with glee at the potential of brutally murdering another enemy.
And his laugh of mad joy is pretty creepy. Is that even a strength?
Weaknesses:
Physical: For all his physical traits are amped up to be, Hidan is indeed immortal. But he is not invincible. He is liable to be cut, slashed, stabbed, and wounded just as much as any other person. Hidan only manages to shrug it all over, but if a limb is dismembered... that's a whole nother story. Hidan can't actually grow back lost limbs and is very liable to scarring. At the very least, if he's able to heal scars and things of the like, it takes a very long time. After losing a piece of his ear against Asuma, he retains his battle scar up until he is finally defeated. Even worse, when he is beheaded he is unable to save himself without Kakuzu's help and stitches.
His ritual also takes a very long time to set up and complete. It's a battle liability and the only reason it is usually completed is because Hidan is immortal to an absurd degree, and he has someone backing him up. Other than that, it is a painfully long ritual to complete that even Kakuzu tends to complain about the length and how long-winded Hidan has a tendency of being when doing it. It also involves a lot of self-mutilation, which puts Hidan in a position where he is taking a lot of damage and busy enjoying it all.
It also conditioned him to not really look out for his well-being in a battle.
Mental: Hidan has a refusal of killing someone with his own hands unless it is by his cursed ritual. This leads to drawn out battles that take way longer than they should, and also leads to Hidan talking about pain and torture for a very long time. He has no sense of secrecy and just takes a very long time to do what he loves to do. On top of that, he likes to exclude Kakuzu from his battles unless it is completely necessary, so these battles can take even longer than they should.
And, like mentioned above, his immortality and ritual has conditioned Hidan into not watching out for his own well-being in battle, instead just taking blows that would normally kill a man because he can.
On top of all that, Hidan is actually quite skilled in Ninjutsu and above average in Genjutsu. Despite his skills in those areas and being a shinobi, Hidan only relies on his Taijutsu and Cursed Ritual to kill someone because that's as direct as he needs to be, and he doesn't need anything else to accomplish his already long-winded killing ritual. It may dampen his own ability to not rely on anything else, but it seems to work out in his favor anyway.
Hidan is also... lacking in the intelligence department. He knows this, Kakuzu knows this, and people who fight him for a prolonged period of time begin to realize this. Things may fly over his head, or he may fall into traps because of not thinking before leaping into something. Most of his actions end up regrettable because of his inability to see ahead and how things may turn sour. He was beheaded because of this.
Heck. It even takes Hidan a few moments to realize that he was even insulted by Kakuzu after the fact. Not exactly prime cut.
Emotional: Being way too easy to rile up, Hidan lets his emotions get the best of him all the fucking time. It's almost the only way he can fight and Hidan has absolutely no poker face, letting his emotions always show up when they honestly shouldn't. In fact, unlike other shinobi who train themselves to keep their cools in battle, the only reason Hidan is so deadly is because of his ritual, so he has no need to actually hide his emotions like a trained shinobi. He always yells in frustration and bitches about everything when he gets a chance.
Hell, he even swears to kill his own teammates when they annoy him and likes to curse people out when things don't go his way. The guy gets pissed off way too easily. He isn't the most mature member of the Akatsuki.

Oi. I'm not gonna join your stupid fucking bandwagon and introduce myself just because I'm somewhere new with some weird ass book. Fuck that.
[His speech is accompanied by the sound of a rock scrapped against metal.]
But I've got a question for you heathens. [Scrape.] Figured I should ask it before I up and forget.
I read that little guide you bastards kept trying to throw around like some sorta important pamphlet. It's fucking long-winded, by the way. [Scrape.] Says riiiiight here that anyone around here can die from these puny little wings on our back. [Scrape.] Unless you're all dumbasses and like passing around wrong information, I'm gonna say that's true.
Man, I bet Kakuzu'd be eating his own foot with how smart I'm being. I guess he could actually do that...
Wait, fuck! Don't distract me! All I'm asking is how much fucking damage these wings can take before it kills somebody. [Scrape.] It's kinda really important if I'm gonna do my job right.
[The dull thud of a rock hitting dirt echoes for a moment before a loud, high-pitched laugh erupts.]
Anyone wanna help me find out!? Lord Jashin will surely reward you for giving me a hand!
Third Person:
Dirt, dirt and more dirt. There was nothing but dirt everywhere around him. All he could see was the deep brown of dirt. All he could taste on his tongue was dirt. All he could breathe through his lungs was dirt. All he could--
Lungs?
With a hefty push against the dirt that seemed to have enveloped him mere moments before, Hidan took in a deep breathe of fresh air. The dirt that he thought was suffocating and burying him was actually the ground beneath him, and he was merely facedown against it. He was above ground. He could feel the empty space around him, and could only verify it once his eyes shot open. The bloodshot orbs of purple darted around the surroundings.
He was obviously in the forest still. That fucker might still be nearby. But his scythe was nowhere near in sight, and none of his weapons seemed to be on his person. A troubling discovery that only caused grief for Hidan. He would make sure to make this grief known to the birds nesting in a nearby tree by kicking the side of it while yelling expletives at the sky.
Turning on his heel in anger, Hidan ripped a branch off the side of a tree and swung it around a few times. His arms felt as if they were never blown apart. His neck feels just as stitched on as before, and his eyes were working just as fine as they did before rocks fell onto them and gave him one hell of a beating. Just like that fucking piece of work, Shikamaru. Ohhh, he was going to get it once Hidan found out where he ran off to so quickly.
"Should have done a better job, you fucking atheist! You said my god was full of crap!? Lord Jashin obviously disagrees with your bullshit! Look at me! I'm still kicking and not at the bottom of a piece of shit pit! When I find you, you're gonna--"
He found his speech cut short by the sound of a twig snapping behind him, and Hidan whirled around fully expecting Konoha shinobi to be arriving to surround and defeat him. Maybe Kakuzu was right about shutting up every once in awhile. With the branch pointed outwards like a sword, Hidan narrowed his eyes and readied himself. But no shinobi arrived.
Only a deer.
With a grimace, Hidan remembered everything leading up to his so-called burial. The deer surrounded him like an audience itching for his demise, those soulless eyes peering into the fear he felt moments before being blown to smithereens. That Shikamaru prick said that no one but his clan ever went into this forest. Besides the deer.
Well. Fuck the deer!
Without noticing the wings on his back, Hidan rushed forward at the animal and moved to stab the sharp end of his branch into those soulless, black eyes. He'd better get warmed up before going after that bastard and smiting him in the name of Jashin.
